DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Kicker Bees remember we spring forward one hour Saturday night! So don't forget to change your clocks....especially since we have a practice on Sunday (at noon).

Kickball Karma Sutra

Just a reminder that there will be an impromptu practice this Sunday at Noon at the Kickball fields. If you can make well thats just super spiffy! If not we'll be seein' ya Thursday for the pickup games. The pickup games begin at 630pm but if everyone could please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can all have a group hug (j/k) :)

Also please be thinking about what position you would like to play....do you dream at night of catching popflys in the outfield, are you a sprinter and lust after Derek Jeter, perhaps you'll be the kicker bees shortstop, or maybe you do squats at night looking in the mirror trying to imitate Mike Piazza, we'll make you the catcher then!

Or if you just are happy playing any position well then let me know that too!

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

There will be an impromptu Kicker Bees practice this Sunday, April 2nd at Noon at the Kickball Fields. No worries if you can't make it but if you can thats superfantastic!

Here are some general directions to the fields:
Address: 2 Teachers Way, Gaithersburg MD 20877
To the fields:
» I-270 to exit 8 (Shady Grove)
» Turn left onto 355 N
» Slight right onto S. Summit Ave.
» Right onto E. Diamond Ave (is on your left)
» Left at light, onto Girard St.
» Left onto Teachers Way
» Fields are on right side of school.

Offical Team Referees

Thank you to Roger Barkman & McKenna Kelly for volunteering to be Kicker Bee/Zebra hybrids for the season. You two are just so spiffy!

But remember we all need to read up on the rules. It's good to be well informed when you are kicking up dust on the Refs shoes arguing that "Yes! I was safe!"

Referees for Games

Well the division is trying out this new thing for referees this season. Each team is to appoint 2 people who will be the designated "Refs" for the teams. These individuals will provide reffing for the games we do not play in. I know some of you are new and I want you to know that just because its your first season that its okay to volunteer b/c we all were new last season. The rules are easy to learn, and remember...IT'S JUST KICKBALL. We aren't deciding any Final Four Championships :)

If you have any questions please let me know. If you are willing to Ref please let me know no later than Thursday before 6pm as I have to relay the names at the Captains meeting that evening.

Also two practice times have been suggested. Sunday at noon or Monday at 630. Please let me know what your preference is. No Pressure!

Kickball Rules

Whether you are a freshman or sophomore player be sure to read up on the WAKA kickball rules! Rules are available in PDF format here: http://www.kickball.com/rules.html

Also note the newest rule change is regarding refs. WAKA now states that the only ref needed for regular season games is the home plate ref. The first base and third base refs will be optional.

Our Zebra Leader, Tim Brown, hopes to have a Ref Clinic probably coinciding with the pick-up games so keep your eyes peeled!

Remember the more people that know the rules, the smoother the games will go!

Gold Shirts!

The Kicker Bees will be clad in Gold Shirts this year! The vote for Gold barely edged out the vote for black! But in a last minute surge to victory Gold took the checkered flag!

I'm sure all the Kicker Bees will look very sm-exy in their Gold attire.
